BACKGROUND
HAPLN1 belongs to the HAPLN family. It contains 1 Ig like V type (immunoglobulin like) domain and 2 Link domains. This protein stabilizes the aggregates of proteoglycan monomers with hyaluronic acid in the extracellular cartilage matrix.
