BACKGROUND
The oxoglutarate/malate carrier transports 2-oxoglutarate across the inner membranes of mitochondria in an electroneutral exchange for malate or other dicarboxylic acids (summarized by Iacobazzi et al., 1992 [PubMed 1457818]).
